Small Game: Squirrels (Grey,Red,Fox,Flying), Raccoons, Bobcats, Coyotes, Fox (Any type), Rabbits and any other huntable small mammals- These can be frozen whole or if you know how you can skin them out. They need to be double bagged in plastic trash bags and all air removed. These animals can remain in the freezer for sometime but the longer they are stored this way the greater chance of hair loss.
Large Game: Deer (Any type), Elk, Sheep, Goats- The best way is to cape the animal out and then freeze in double bags removing the air. To cape the animal out please take it from behind the front legs it is better to have to much cape then not enough. If you cant cape then please take the head off just in front of the front legs taking as much cape as you can. We would like you to use a 7 or Y cut on the head to remove the horns it you or your guide capes the animal out.
Again, it is best to bring the animal to a taxidermist as soon as you can the longer red meat remains on the cape and the longer it stays warm the more bacteria grows. Bacteria is the number one cause of a cape going bad!!
Snakes& Fish: They need to be double bagged in plastic trash bags and all air removed. These animals dont need to be frozen to long because of freezer burn.
Ducks,Geese,Turkeys- Birds need to be frozen whole.Double bagged and a paper towel wrapped around the head to keep blood from draining out onto the feathers.
Shipping: UPS 2 day is the best form of shipping. Freeze the animal, line the box with insulation. And please call us to let us know the animal is on its way. 706-202-7652
